Making his 167th career PGA TOUR start, Lucas Glover recorded a 3-over 73 on Monday to win the 109th U.S. Open Championship. At 4-under 276, Glover finished two strokes ahead of Phil Mickelson (70), David Duval (71) and Ricky Barnes (76). It is the second victory of Glover’s career (2005 FUNAI Classic at Walt Disney World Resort).
With the victory, Glover earns a 10-year exemption to the U.S. Open, and five-year exemptions to the PLAYERS Championship, Masters, British Open and PGA Championship. He is also fully-exempt on the PGA TOUR through the 2014 season. Here are Glover's stats for the week:

The runner-up finish for Duval, the 13th of his career, is his first top-10 finish since a T6 at the 2002 Invensys Classic at Las Vegas, a streak of 116 tournaments. It is his best outing since losing in a playoff at the 2001 Buick Challenge. His last top-10 finish in a major championship was T10 at the 2001 PGA Championship.
Barnes (T2) failed in his attempt to become the 12th player to win the U.S. Open and U.S. Amateur in their career. The list includes Francis Ouimet, Jerome D. Travers, Charles Evans Jr., Bobby Jones, John Goodman, Lawson Little, Arnold Palmer, Gene Littler, Jack Nicklaus, Jerry Pate and Tiger Woods.
Angel Cabrera followed up his Masters victory with a T54 finish this week at the U.S. Open. He is one of 15 players to have won the Masters and U.S. Open in a career.
Woods posted a 1-under 69 on Monday to finish T6 and four behind Lucas Glover. He was attempting to come from behind to win a major for the first time in his career. He has been a leader or co-leader at all 14 of his major wins.
Since 1991, Woods and Goosen are the only defending champions to finish better than 40th in the defense of their title. Goosen finished T11 in 2005 after holding a three-stroke lead after 54 holes, while Woods finished 12th in 2001 20th in 2003 and T6 in 2009. Curtis Strange, in 1988-89, is the last repeat winner at the U.S. Open.

Ricky Barnes (T2 – previous best 21st at 2003 Masters)

Three players have top-10 finishes in the first two majors of the year: Mickelson (5th Master, 2nd U.S. Open), Woods (T6, T6) and Mahan (T10/T6).
Lucas Glover’s only PGA TOUR victory was also in come-from-behind fashion, as he birdied the final two holes to capture the 2005 FUNAI Classic at Walt Disney World Resort. He made a 40-foot putt from the fringe on No. 17 and then a 100-foot bunker shot on the final hole to win.
The 54-hole leader/co-leader has won 48 times at the U.S. Open, most recently Tiger Woods in 2008.
The third-round leader/co-leader has won 17 of 25 events (68 percent) on the PGA TOUR this season. Last year, the third-round leader/co-leader only won 22 of 46 events (48 percent).
Past champions of the U.S. Open and their results this week: Woods (T6), Goosen (T16), Jim Furyk (T33), Geoff Ogilvy (T47), Cabrera (T54).
Monday’s finish was the first on TOUR this season. There were three Monday finishes a year ago: World Golf Championships-CA Championship (non-scheduled), Deutsche Bank Championship (scheduled) and the U.S. Open (playoff). The last time the U.S. Open finished regulation on a Monday was in 1983 when Sunday afternoon thunderstorms forced play into an extra day.
